A reissue of the Tulipan armchair, the prototype of which was created in 1973 at FAMEG as part of a lounge suite designed by Teresa Kruszewska.
The armchair’s chalice-shaped, organic form is the result of Teresa Kruszewska’s work on the plastic possibilities of plywood, which she began in the 1950s. This extraordinary sense of form, conscious consideration of aesthetics and proper construction, characteristic of the designer, is influenced by renowned Polish designers associated with the “Ład” Artists’ Cooperative and Alvaro Alto. Simplicity, naturalness, apt solutions, and functionality while caring for children, adults, and the elderly – these ideas guided Teresa Kruszewska’s designs.
